PLC Technology II expands on the topics covered in PLC I.  Learners will go deeper into programming PLCs, incorporate HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming and modifying programs to include changes in the applications.

Smart Sensors is a comprehensive course that guides students through details project-oriented learning activities.  Learners will perform practical exercises in a simplified work environment, allowing them to focus on smart sensors.  Learners can also connect these sensors to a PLC over PROFINET®, Ethernet/IP ™ or Modbus®, just like in industry.  Once the fundamentals are mastered, more complex I4.0 learning systems such as MPS, CP Lab, or CP Factory offer further training opportunities:  the wide variety of sensor integrated in these systems allows learners to put their knowledge into practice and deepen their comprehension of the role of sensors within a complex manufacturing system.

Taken together, learners will be able to program PLCs, configure smart sensors, integrate them into industrial systems, troubleshoot the automation process, and apply standards for safe and efficient operation.

Industry credentials to be earned:  NC3 / Festo – Applied PLCs and NC3 / Festo – Applied Principles of Smart Sensors.
