Grant Pre-Qualification & Funding Screening

This free screening form determines your potential eligibility for tuition assistance (including FANTIC, G3, Fast Forward, and scholarships) managed by Virginia Western Community College (VWCC).

IMPORTANT: Submitting this form does NOT enroll you into an academic class, reserve a seat, or guarantee grant funding. Formal course enrollment and tuition assessment will be processed separately by VWCC staff once your eligibility is verified and approved.

Step-by-Step Submission Instructions

1. Log into your WES student account.

2. Add the Grant Pre-Qualification Form to your cart.

3. Answer all screening questions regarding your income, family size, and right to work. Be prepared to provide verification for this information.

   • Students Under 24: If you are under 24 you will need to use your Parent's domicile or provide proof of independence. 

   • Students Under 18: Applicants under 18 years of age are not permitted to apply for WCG funds directly; the application and policy acknowledgments must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

4. Review and Agree to Policies: Check the boxes to acknowledge and agree to the WCG Promissory Note terms, Refund Policy, and related institutional guidelines. By checking these boxes, you agree that these terms will apply if you are approved for funding and enrolled by VWCC staff.

5. Complete Checkout: Submit the form to finish your registration. There is no cost for submitting this form. Complete this step even if the system displays an initial message indicating non-eligibility.

6. Complete the Interest Form: Fill out the Interest and Funding Screening Form so that we can appropriately match you with available funding.

What Happens Next? Once submitted, a Career Navigator will review your file and contact you via your provided email regarding funding decisions, prerequisite verifications, and final course enrollment steps. Please monitor your inbox regularly to prevent delays.
