The path to a Dealer-operator license begins with this two-day course! The Virginia Independent Auto Dealership Association provides the curriculum and instruction for the course.
The course takes the attendee from:
Establishing the dealership under local zoning and Dealer Board requirements
Sales process ( multitude of forms)
Laws and regulations
Sampling of opening and operating expenses
Discussion on ethics
The course is open to all existing dealers and their employees All attendees MUST ENROLL and PAY for course.
- The TEST/EXAM will be given at the end of instruction on the second day.
- You must pass this test with a grade of 80% before taking the final exam at a DMV Customer Service Center.
- Those who do not pass will be required to retake the course at a future time.
- An additional fee is required
PASSING THE EXAM:
Students who pass the final exam at the DMV Customer Service Center must submit the necessary application forms and fees to the Motor Vechicle Dealer Board (http://www.mvdb.virginia.gov/) to become a licensed car dealer in Virginia. While this is required for new dealerships, existing dealership owners and employees will also benefit.
