« back to classes page
Would you like to fly a drone for construction, agriculture, real estate, photography, or any other non-hobby activities? Does your employer want you to fly a drone for work purposes? This course is for you! The FAA requires small UAS (unmanned aerial systems or drones) operators for non-hobby purposes to be certified under Part 107, which includes an exam and background check. This course combines quality online video training with in-person classroom instruction and actual flight practice to prepare you for the Small UAS Rule (Part 107) aeronautical knowledge test. You’ll have access to practice exams and online videos explaining key principles to prepare you for the 107 exam. Classroom instruction and flight practice will be conducted over 3 days on VWCC’s Roanoke campus under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor. Course materials and in-class use of drones are included in the cost of tuition (FAA exam not included). Check faa.gov to learn more about the requirements governing UAS/drone operation and the FAA Part 107 exam. Enroll now as class size is limited! 2020 is the year for you to gain new skills and build your career.
