Learn the difference between standard and critical thinking patterns,
How to interpret and analyze scenarios, test judgements, and explain
findings to increase problem-solving capabilities through critical
thinking.  Further this knowledge and competency to effectively perform
root cause analysis and troubleshoot for increased output and
profitability.  The nine-step root cause analysis process, the 6 Ms of
production, and a deep dive using the 5 Whys Technique will also be
covered during this course. Lunch included.


Learning Objectives:
  • Explain critical thinking and its importance for effective problem-solving.
  • Differentiate critical thinking from standard thinking patterns.
  • Apply critical thinking to sample scenarios to derive the best solutions.
  • Explain meta-cognition.
  • Attribute meta-cognition to expedient troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Utilize a mind map to depict steps in the problem-solving and critical thinking processes.
  • Utilize a future wheel as a tool for troubleshooting.
  • Define and describe the nine steps of the root cause analysis process.
  • Define and describe the importance of escalation and resolution in terms of a RACI matrix.
  • Explain the 6 Ms of production.
  • Explain the 5 Whys Technique and its correlation to effective root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrate correct use of the 5 Whys Technique.
