Q:  How do I register? 
A: You have several registration and payment options.  Please note that your registration is not completed until your tuition has been paid and processed.

  • In person: You may register in person at our Enrollment Center located in Chapman Hall at Virginia Western Community College, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.  Our address is: 3094 Colonial Ave., SW; Roanoke, VA 24015.
  • By mail: Mail your completed Registration Form with check or money order to, Virginia Western Community College; Workforce Solutions office; 3074 Colonial Ave., SW; Roanoke, VA 24015.


Q: What payment options do I have?
A: There are several options available to you depending on how you register.
 
  • On-line:  You may pay with your credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
  • In person: Pay at the Cashier’s Office located in Fishburn Hall after registration. Your payment options cash or check – made out to Virginia Western Community College.
  • By Mail: Please send a check made out to Virginia Western Community College in the amount of tuition and include your student ID#.  Payment should be sent to: Virginia Western Community College; Cashier's office; 3093 Colonial Ave., SW; Roanoke, VA 24015.
 
 Q: How will I know if I got into a class?

A: This will depend on how you register.
 
  • On-line:  After completing your credit card payment, you are registered and will receive a class confirmation and transaction receipt via email.
  • By Phone :  You will receive an email confirmation and transaction receipt once your registration is processed. If you do not provide an email address, we do not send a confirmation by mail. You can confirm your registration by calling 540.857.6076 or emailing us at workforce@virginiawestern.edu
  • In person:  If you pay in person by credit card or cash, you will receive a receipt and class information on how to access your account on-line to see what classes you are registered in.
  
Q:  What are your refund policies? 
 A:  Depending on the class and/or program you are enrolled in, the refund policy may be different.  Before paying for any classes read the refund policy.  You will need to accept the refund policy before continuing to check out.
 

Q:  When there is low enrollment are classes cancelled?
 A: Virginia Western Community College reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, registered participants will receive a complete refund. You will be notified by email and/or phone if your class is cancelled.
  

Q: Can Virginia Western provide a class designed just for my company?  
A: Yes. All of the classes listed on our schedule can be customized “On-Demand” for your business or organizational training. If you do not see a topic listed, contact us and we will develop your training course.  Our faculty are vetted subject matter experts with significant business experience in their fields.  For more information on our customized training, please email: workforce@virginiawestern.edu or call 540.857.6076.


Q: Do you offer career certification programs? 
A: Yes. A certification is a credential that you earn to show that you have specific skills or knowledge. Some employers require a certification in order to apply for a job. Many people earn specialty certifications to help them advance in their careers. Q: Do you offer career assistance?

Q: Do you offer Youth Programs?
A: We do offer summer youth programs, as well as specialized activities for youth throughout the year.  For more information on what opportunities exist, contact workforce@virginiawestern.edu.


Q: How can I become a teacher for Virginia Western’s Workforce Solutions? 
A:  We are always looking to add new, qualified teaching faculty to our staff.  Qualifications for our faculty include:  subject matter expertise, prior success in facilitating learning, passion for sharing your knowledge, and any specialized credentials that may be required for teaching within your industry.

Q: Is there financial aid available for non-credit Workforce Solutions classes?
A: YES we have funding available for those who qualify for our noncredit Workforce Solutions classes.
