Summer Career Exploration Camps

The purpose of this program is to dynamically introduce career pathways for rising lot of 10th, 11th and 12th grade, students through one-week camps with the Virginia Western Community College Workforce Solutions Division at the helm, and to strategically integrate area organizations, employers, and school districts within the geo-region served by the college. 

Camp participants will be introduced to the respective industry of their chosen camp and job pathways within the industry and will have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills. 

The instructional team members who serve this endeavor have extensive Instructional experience and repertoire of Industry-related experience and can support the students while interweaving industry and higher education to a) innovate b) remove barriers c) engage students and d) enhance students' workplace readiness.

Each camp in this program additionally illuminates and describes rewarding career trajectories enabling students to envision a bright future. 

All supporters of this program will have the opportunity to present during their respective camp and have a table at the supporter fair concurrent to the program graduation at the Hotel Roanoke on August 9, 2025, from 9:00 am 
to 12:00 pm.
